Data & Artificial Intelligence’s Roles in Corporate Social Responsibility

A round table discussion that explores a number of issues relating to data and impact on corporate social responsibility.  Conversations will include: How corporate proprietary data might improve our communities; Is a cultural transformation in the way companies, governments, and other organizations treat data required;  How do new privacy laws impact data and its use for corporate social responsibility; Is there is a moral imperative to behave differently around the way we produce and consume data.

The panel will include:

Paul Estey, Co-Founder & Chief Innovation Officer, Public Inc.

As Chief Innovation Officer, Paul plays a central role as strategic advisor to both clients and internal teams in developing the frameworks and strategies needed to help accelerate the shift toward a purpose economy where businesses and consumers alike ‘profit with purpose’.  Paul also oversees the internal operations of the business, including employee recruitment and development and the growth of Public’s network of investors, ambassadors and creative and strategic partners.

Betty Ferreira, CPA, CMA Transformation, Turnaround & Restructuring Strategist, Founder ReStructure

A former Executive Director and founder, managing director, and principal consultant of ReStructure Consulting, a boutique consulting firm which focuses on restructuring, turnarounds and mergers of non-profit organizations.
As a former CEO of several non-profit organizations, my work over the past 25 years has focused specifically on projects that require an integration of strategy, finance, governance, and operational planning and implementation.

Joy Robson, Co-Founder Data for Good, and Data Strategist

It took a light-bulb moment for Joy to realize that We, The North, were well positioned to make an impact within the global Data, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence for Social Good movement. That moment came during a 13-hour flight to Dubai, UAE back in October 2012 while reading the current issue of The Economist wherein a small blurb described the efforts of what was then called Data without Borders, now DataKind.org. Today, Joy is both proud and pleased (but not surprised) to see Canada stepping up and in to its leadership role. With over 20-years of professional experience in Data Science, Strategic Business and Management Consulting, Joy possesses a unique blend of expertise from her work within the Telecom, IT, Retail, Automotive, Real Estate, Education, Government and the Social Sectors
